Description:

·      Part time cook required working in a friendly 44 bedded residential home in Dorking, Surrey.

·      At least one year’s professional cooking experience is required to be considered for this position.

·      Pay: £15.74 per hour plus £1.85 weekend enhancement.

·  Candidates must be able to offer the flexibility to work shifts on any day Monday to Friday as well as working alternate weekends.

 

You will be required to:

·      Work at all times within the practice taught in the Food Hygiene course.

·      Prepare food for appropriate meals as specified by the menu.

·      Ensure any food prepared looks pleasant, is tasty and kept hot/cold as needed.

·      Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum.

·      Ensure the kitchen is tidy and clean at the end of a shift.

·      Ensure a safe environment for other staff.

·      Ensure fridge, freezers and food temperatures are recorded twice a day.

·      Ensure daily/weekly and monthly cleaning tasks are carried out to a high standard and signed for.

·      Ensure the Better Food Better Business is correct and kept up to date.

·      Report any problems to the Person-in-Charge as appropriate.

·      Gain feedback from residents during meal times.

·      Complete ordering to ensure plenty of stock is available to be able to fulfil the daily menus.

·      Be aware of residents’ nutritional needs and cater accordingly.

·      Reporting to the Chef Manager.
