About the Role
Working under the guidance of the Room Leader and Nursery Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting every child's learning, wellbeing, and development while helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive nursery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily running of the nursery and help provide outstanding care for all children.
- Deliver high-quality learning in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Act as a Key Person for a small group of children, monitoring their progress and planning next steps based on their individual interests and developmental stage.
- Observe, assess, and record children's learning and development.
- Plan and deliver engaging, stimulating, and age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.
- Promote children's emotional wellbeing, confidence, independence, and social development.
- Build positive, professional relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.
- Maintain excellent communication with families, providing regular feedback on children's progress and wellbeing.
- Ensure children's safety and welfare are always the highest priority.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and nursery policies and procedures.
- Support children with personal care, including toileting, nappy changing, handwashing, and developing independence with self-care routines.
- Encourage positive social interaction during mealtimes and support healthy eating habits.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
- Check equipment regularly and report any damaged or unsafe equipment immediately.
- Record accidents, incidents, and observations accurately, following nursery procedures.
- Undertake Paediatric First Aid training where required.
- Be flexible and willing to support all areas of the nursery, including preparing snacks, cleaning toys and equipment, and other general housekeeping duties.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, parents' evenings, inset days, and other out-of-hours events as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistently high standards throughout the nursery.
- Respect the confidentiality of children, families, and colleagues at all times.
- Treat the nursery as a whole, always remaining aware of the needs of every child within the setting.
- Support children from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, religions, and abilities, ensuring every child feels valued, respected, and included.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- Previous experience working within an early years or nursery setting.
- Good knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work well as part of a team while using your own initiative.
- A positive, caring, and enthusiastic attitude.
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve the very best start in life.

Our wonderful home-from-home nursery is privately owned, and we are committed to providing the highest quality daycare and early years' education for children from three months to five years old. We are fully insured, Inspected, and regulated by Ofsted under the Children Act 2004 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
Our nursery has 2 separate rooms. The baby room is a home-from-home baby area dedicated to caring for children aged 3 months to 2 years old, there is also an outdoor covered area just for this age group. The toddlers and preschool room caters for children 2 – 5 years of age.
Opening times: Monday to Friday, 8AM-6PM for 50 weeks per year, closed all public holidays.
