The Light of the World Community Nursery is Ofsted registered to care for 40 children aged 0 to 5 years old.The Nursery and After School/Holiday care clubs were graded GOOD at our last inspection in January 2016. The After school and holiday care is also Ofsted registered, and provides after school and holiday care for 32 children aged 5 to 13 years. We have a well resoused Baby nursery that caters for infants aged 0 to 2 years old.
Nursery Manager
The Nursery Manager will be expected to provide a high standard of childcare for children and families from the local and district wide communities of Bradford.
The Nursery Manager will oversee the operation of the Nursery to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible environment and care is provided for young children from age three months to 5 years.
The Light of the world Nursery provides child care for 28 pre- school children and 12 Babies.
Main responsibilities
- ϖ To be responsible for and to oversee the day to day management, staffing, organisation and smooth running of the nursery and out of school care club.
- ϖ To develop the ethos relating to under fives and to create a welcoming and family friendly environment.
- ϖ To implement strategies, planning, monitoring evaluation and development of the nursery.
- ϖ To be responsible at all times for high standards of care and education for children between the ages of 0 to 13 yrs, in accordance with statutory requirements.
- ϖ To ensure that the EYFS framework is promoted and delivered within this setting and the principles adhered to.
- ϖ To ensure effective communication between the Childcare staff and with external agencies.
- ϖ To ensure that equipments and resources are maintained in accordance with this organisation`s Health and Safety requirements.
- ϖ To be responsible for admissions in line with the admissions policy and procedures.
- ϖ To keep a register and up-to-date records of all children using the Childcare provision, and to ensure that regular feedback of the children`s development is given to parents.
- ϖ To be responsible for organising training and monitoring of Staff and Students in the Nursery and Out of School. Able to motivate and support staff in their roles, and identify and implement training to enhance their development.
- ϖ To ensure that the policies and procedures pertaining to the nursery and Care club are kept up to date, and ready for inspection
Supervision/Management of People
The post holder will be responsible for the support requirements of the following staff:
- Deputy Manager
- Room Leaders
- Nursery Practitioners
- Nursery Assistants
- Students and work placement personnel
Creativity and innovation
The Nursery Manager will have a key role in the planning and monitoring of the nursery, and implementing essential policies and procedures. This will require creative thought together with an informed understanding of statutory requirements and best practices in childcare.
The post holder must have a clear understanding of the EYFS framework, policies and procedures in relation to keeping children safe, equal opportunities, data protection, confidentiality and complaints procedures.
