About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Room Leader to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Room Leader or an experienced Early Years Practitioner looking to take the next step in their career.
As a Senior Room Leader, you will lead your room team to deliver outstanding care and education while ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, and learning are maintained. You will act as a role model, supporting colleagues and helping to create a positive, engaging environment for both children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire your room team, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences in line with Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition guidance.
- Support children's learning, development, wellbeing, and individual needs.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children's progress.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
- Mentor and support practitioners within the room, promoting continuous professional development.
- Complete observations, assessments, and children's learning records accurately.
- Work collaboratively with the management team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People), or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), or willing to register.
- Previous experience working within an early years setting.
- Experience leading or supervising a room team is desirable.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
