Early Years Practitioner – Walthamstow
Location: Walthamstow Village, London
Salary: £13.25 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Term time – 39 weeks per year
Hours: 7:45am – 4:15pm
A vibrant and welcoming pre-school in the heart of Walthamstow Village is looking for a passionate and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified practitioner who is passionate about providing high-quality care and supporting young children to reach their full potential.
Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as NCFE CACHE or Diploma in Early Years
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children aged 9 months to 4 years
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Genuine passion for working with young children
- Good written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Accurate record-keeping skills
- Enhanced DBS clearance
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a safe, secure and nurturing environment for children
- Acting as a Key Person for a group of children
- Observing children and planning activities around their individual needs
- Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS
- Building positive relationships with families and colleagues
- Attending staff meetings and training sessions
- Contributing to the overall smooth running of the setting

Shernhall Pre-school is a friendly and caring multi-cultural pre-school located in the heart of Walthamstow. We are a non-profit making charitable organisation run by a committee of volunteers and parents. We are open during term time for morning and afternoon sessions. In addition, we offer a Lunch Club which enables us to be very flexible and offer full day care as well as half day places.
The pre-school takes children from age 9 months + until they are ready to move up to school or a school nursery.
